Business Development Representative

For more than 30 years, we have collaborated with and supported small to medium-sized businesses by providing Payroll, HR, Workers’ Compensation, and Benefits solutions. Our goal is to support our clients in such a way that they can continue to grow their businesses and not worry about employee administration.

We are looking for a Business Development Representative to oversee the implementation of business objectives among our company’s sales, marketing, and business development professionals. Their duties include setting appointments for senior sales associates and developing leads through calling, networking, email campaigns, and other strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies
  • Contacting potential clients to establish a business relationship and meet with them
  • Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships
  • Setting appointments for senior sales reps
  • Prospecting for new leads, and generating new lead sources
  • Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business
  • Collaborate with sales and design team to ensure requirements are met, such as sales numbers and profit goals
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop leads from marketing campaigns and meet sales quotas
  • Contacting potential clients through cold calls, meetings, and emails
  • Learn company culture, goals, and services.
  • Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals inline with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Account Executives
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans


  • 1-2 years with track record of B2B sales and negotiation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in order to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Excellent organizational skills to meet goals and set priorities
  • Be proactive, organized and handle work under stressful and uncertain environments
  • Drive and resourcefulness in building relationships with prospective customers
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
