Senior HR Business Partner

Helpside’s dynamic seven-member HR Department provides HR support to hundreds of business clients in Utah and surrounding states. We firmly believe that we have the ability to impact our client’s businesses in a way that makes their employees’ work lives better. Helpside supports businesses in the tech sector, marketing, medicine, construction, manufacturing, education, retail, agriculture, and legal fields (among others). As a result, no two days here are alike.

Our Dream Candidate

Because our clients rely on us to provide timely solutions to a range of HR challenges, an ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with business leaders to address employee matters in ways that are consistent with applicable employment laws, regulations, and best practices. A mind for customer service and creative problem solving is essential, as is a willingness to work with our team to deliver timely and practical solutions to tough HR problems. Our dream candidate also has experience (and love for) training managers and employees on HR topics in an engaging way and is someone who is hungry to increase the depth and breadth of their HR skillset.

Core Job Responsibilities

  • Provide timely responses to client HR inquiries with legally compliant solutions and advice while reflecting an awareness of the business realities that face our clients.
  • Conduct HR investigations.
  • Develop and deliver on-site and remote HR training to client managers and employees.
  • Develop and edit employee policies.
  • Develop educational content and HR forms for delivery to Helpside clients.
  • Assist the Director of Human Resources on internal HR matters.
  • Provide unsurpassed customer service to our clients and internal team members.
  • Provide engaging and topical training to other members of the HR staff.
  • Report directly to Helpside’s General Counsel/Director of Human Resources.

Core Competencies

  • Working knowledge of basic employment laws (Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, Utah Anti-discrimination Act, etc.) and a desire to more fully master such laws through research and continuing education.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide HR training to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to write clearly and edit others’ written content.
  • Ability to create and operate presentations within Powerpoint.
  • Ability to conduct thorough, effective, and objective investigations of employee complaints while maintaining confidences as required.
  • Commitment to success and growth.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations in a direct but empathetic way.
  • Zeal for learning from others and generously teaching others.
  • Ability to work full time between 8:00am and 5:00pm
  • Ability to drive (or secure transportation) to client meetings.

Required Education and Experience

  • Four years or more of relevant HR experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field is preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certified is preferred.
  • MS Office proficiency is required.
