If you plan to enroll in new benefits or make changes to your existing benefits options for 2019, you must do so during open enrollment. Absent a qualifying event, employees who miss the open enrollment window will need to wait until the next calendar year open enrollment to enroll or make changes.

The deadline for enrollments and changes this year is Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Enrollments and changes will not be accepted after this date.

Please note that there have been some changes to the health plans available through Helpside for 2019. We encourage all employees to review available benefits options in the open enrollment portal, even if they do not think they will make any changes or enroll in new benefits.

Please remember January 1, 2019 is also the medical, dental, and vision plan rate renewal, which means that your premium deductions will likely change starting with your first paychecks in December, even if you do not make any changes to your coverage. We encourage you to review all plans and pricing information during open enrollment.

*Each company chooses which benefits to offer to employees. Not all benefits will be available to all employees. Log into your ESS portal  to see available benefits options and pricing. Contact us at (801) 443-1090 or with questions.

This year, employees will be able to research benefits options, compare rates, and enroll in their benefits online through the Employee Self-Service (ESS) Portal.

What is Open Enrollment?

Open enrollment is the one time during the year that you can enroll in or make changes to your benefits without a qualifying event.

For all benefits through Helpside, open enrollment runs from November 1, 2018-November 21, 2018. No changes or enrollments will be accepted after this date.

Please Note

  • Employees who work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, dependent care spending account, or disability. Employees who work 20 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in life insurance. Employees who work 15 hours or more per week are eligible to participate in the hospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness plans. The above applies only if your employer chooses to offer these benefits to employees. If you have questions about your available benefits options, please log into your ESS portal or contact Helpside.
  • Each benefit option is an independent choice. For example, an employee may choose to elect dental and life insurance coverage, while waiving all other benefit options.
  • Benefit premiums are collected one month in advance. Monthly premium deductions are spread over two checks for semi-monthly and bi-weekly payrolls and over four checks for weekly payrolls. Please submit open enrollment changes or enrollments as soon as possible avoid back premium deductions.
  • Please contact a member of the client success team at Helpside with enrollment questions at (801) 443-1090 or
