This time of year is a natural time for reflection on the previous year, but do you know how you really did this year? A recent article in Entrepreneur asks this very question, and it is a great one. What goals did you set for 2014? Did you even set any? How do you measure your success or failure? If you did not set these parameters at the beginning of 2014, there is really no way to know. Without proper goal setting, it is impossible to truly evaluate the success or failure of the year.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t look back and celebrate the things you know went well and make plans to change the things that did not work as well. But if you did not set clear goals for 2014, why not get started on the right foot for 2015? What do you hope to accomplish? What does success look like personally for you and for your business? Plan how you are going to measure your success, write your goals down and evaluate them throughout the year.
